Size of pool pump I need
What size of pool pump do I need? I have a 13000 gallon pool with 2 inch pvc. I run the pool for 8 hours a day. This normally would be easy but I have a 7 panel solar heating system.
With this installed I am not getting enough suction in my skimmer to run my automatic pool cleaner. I thought more horse power but after reading that may not be the answer.

Bought an above ground automatic pool vacuum, suction too intense?
Bought an above ground automatic pool vacuum, suction too intense? I bought a Dirt Devil automatic pool vacuum, hooked it up my hose, and the suction is too intense so it won’t move around. Am I doing something wrong? I paid 0 for it and haven’t used it once.
Thinking about selling it & getting a robot cleaner instead, but I’m afraid the suction might still be an issue. What valve? On the filter? Read the rest of this entry »
Type of automatic pool vacuum fits Ray Vac hook up
What type of automatic pool vacuum fits Ray Vac hook up? I have a Ray Vac automatic pool cleaner, which is on it’s way out. I understand they are no longer manufacturing Ray Vacs.
I was wondering if there is an automatic pool vac which works with the Ray Vac hook-up (place in the pool where I plug the Rac Vac hose into the jet). Read the rest of this entry »
Kreepy Krauly automatic cleaner doesn’t work well
My swimming pool “Kreepy Krauly” automatic cleaner doesn’t work well…? Just bought a house with a pool. Got everything under control except for the “Kreepy Krauly” in the pool. I can get it to work, however, 1.) It sometimes won’t stay suctioned flat on the pool surface. The back end will start to lift up. Is that normal? 2.) It will usually work for 5-10 minutes and then just stop dead. I make sure the filter is completety clean.
Why would it just stop? 3.) It seems like it is very repetitive. It sometimes just goes over the same area it already cleaned. Isn’t it suppose to be “random” and clean the pool in its entirety? I don’t want to have to fork out for some pool guy to come out and really want to try and do this pool thing on my own. Any help would be appreciated!!

Purchase an automatic pool cleaner
I am looking to purchase an automatic pool cleaner, any suggestions? ? I have an in-ground vinyl liner pool that is 17×36. At its deepest point, it is 8.5 feet deep with sloped walls and tight corners going down. (Someone called it a diving pool?) I want one that is self contained and doesn’t hook up to my filter.
I was originally looking at the Dolphin Diagnostic Advantage (DL2019) In-Ground Robotic Pool Cleaner but am open for suggestions. Anyone have any experience with these or can throw me some pros or cons of a different type? I am not willing to spend more than a ,000.00. Read the rest of this entry »
