Product Description
***** Brand New 2010 Model, w/ 2nd stage Copper Ionizations to Control Algae Growth, for Intex Brand Pool & Intex Filter Pump System ***** This Chlorinator/Chlorine Generator/Saltwater system is designed for Intrex pool set 15' or larger with a properly matched/sized intex filter pump. It might also be compatible with other above ground pool system, however, we do not guaranteed the compatibility of the products. No more red, burning eyes, faded clothes, and pool liners! Simply hook the Intex saltwater generator into the pool's water flow as directed, add the specified amount of salt, and the Chlorine Generator will do the rest. The pool's water is converted to an effective algaecide - and since salt doesn't evaporate or dissipate as chlorine does, the constant addition of chemicals is a thing of the past. Keep your pool incredibly clean, crystal clear and fresh at all times.

I have been trying for 6 years to maintain our intex pool. We are on our third one in 6 years. We would test, put in one of many chemicals in, and then pray, lol. We tried chlorine tablets for the longest time and then last year we started using bromine. We have spent so much money over the years for chemicals. I saw this Chlorinator and decided to try it. It is GREAT!!!!! We bought it in July and our water is crystal clear!!! We set it up and put in the 120 lbs. of salt and that was it. You can get a 30lb bag of salt for $6.00. We have not had to add any salt yet. So far no error codes either. We run it at night and in the morning we have a chlorinated pool. It takes all the guess work out. I am glad I made this investment and I wish I had seen this 6 years ago, lol. Wonderful Product!!!

This is a great product. My swimming pool water was turning green a week after I installed it and when I hooked it up within two days it was as clear as ever. No more chemicals, just 3 bags of salt and voila! I love it!

I never thought it would be that easy to just add Morton Salt to your pool and boom you have instant chlorine.

I bought the product a couple of weeks ago and have had no problems at all. The set up was a bit unclear but went fairly quickly. I do have to set it manually each day because it is plugged into a timer with the regular pool pump. But that isn’t even enough of a hassle to complain about, it only takes a few seconds to set the timer. It also save some on electricity because it isn’t turned on constantly. This is my third year having a large pool and I usually have slimy green walls, even with all the chemicals, and hazy water. So far I have only had to put some pH down into the water once. Other than that I have not used any chemicals since I bought the saltwater pump. I was unsure at first if I should buy it or not because of the wide variety of good and bad reviews, but this is definitely well worth it. My only problem now is what to do with the chemicals that I already had.

This product is very simple to operate and effective on cleanning a swimming pool. This takes the hassle out of pool maintenance. Add the proper amount of salt to the pool, program the chlorination time (which repeats same time everyday), and forget about pool maintanance. No more red eyes, or chlorine smell in your skin!.

This product is easy to use even for someone with no prior pool owning experience. Once hooked up, it’s really just turn it on and let it do its thing. You can attach it to a timer to make it even more convenient. Everyone who has swum in my pool remarks on how “clean” they feel when they get out, no harsh salt or chlorine feel or smell. I highly recommend this product.

We only have the 12ftX3ft pool, so we needed to upgrade our filter to use it. But, it has been well worth it. We never have to buy expensive, dangerous, toxic chemicals again. I check the levels about once a week. If the levels are too high or low, I just adjust the run time. It’s fabulous! For a pool our size it’s only about 1 hour/ day.

We just got this today (I put the salt in last night so it would be ready to go) and hopefully it is as easy as it seems. I agree with the other reviews – the salt in the water is nice. Following other recommendations to under, rather than over salt, we only put 240 lbs. Intex recommends 310 for our 24′x52″ pool. So far the system light is on for “chlorine”. Hopefully it will really be this easy to keep our chlorine levels appropriate to prevent algae! As far as the time and re-programming issue – it really isn’t a big deal. You push the down arrow for two seconds then up arrow for two seconds to start programming, then arrow up to number of hours you want it to run, then repeat down arrow/up arrow to stop programming. It says it could take 11 hours for 84-97 degree weather, which about covers our entire swim season (Houston) but other reviews say it doesn’t take so long – we’ll see. The point is, with eleven hour cycles we can’t predict which 11 hours we won’t be in the pool, so I’ll be programming frequently (it says not to swim while it’s chlorinating). Still much easier than checking and adding chemicals!

We purchased the 13 x 42″ Sand n Sun (Intex) metal frame pool to replace our 16 x 42″ easy set from the past two years. I had soo many problems keeping the water levels right in the old pool that we opted to upgrade to purchase this saltwater chlorinator. I have NEVER been so happy with our pool! After setup, we had put the recommended salt into the pool then after an hour, the brand new 1000 gph filter that came with the pool quit working… I ended up purchasing a brand new 2500 gph filter pump online because it was IMPOSSIBLE to get a fax through to Intex and I knew from previous experience the 1000 gph filter wasn’t really strong enough for us (our yard is surrounded by big old trees). After the water had sat for ten days, when we finally got the pump and chlorinator working, it took about 12 hours and the water was perfect!!! I have to add a small amount of chlorine every two days and run it for an hour or two a day. The ONLY adjustments I’ve had to make are once a week, I add a PH Decreaser. As far as using the system goes, the only complaint I have is the “buttons” for setting the time do not always work i.e. are not sensitive enough or are too sensitive. Also, since this runs off the filter, I end up resetting it everyday so that I don’t have to have the filter pump running 24/7. I’m looking into purchasing a timer to solve this small dilemma. My husband and I both feel that even if this generator only lasts one season, it’s been well worth the $200 plus tax for our crystal-clear, non-chlorine smelling water!
The first one is nice, the second one I don’t know, it’s set on privat’, so I can’t watch it.
