Product Description

Purify your pool without the harmful effects of chlorine. Enjoy swimming in the cleanest, softest water imaginable, without the unpleasant smell or taste of chlorine! With the Solar Powered Pool Purifier, a low-maintenance pool purification system that reduces chlorine use by upwards of 80%, you and your family will enjoy swimming in amazingly pure water -- without bleached hair or towels, dry skin or itchy eyes. This completely safe and non-toxic solar pool purifier floats in your pool and releases mineral ions into the water. While the mineral ions are absolutely harmless to you, they effectively halt the growth of algae and other microorganisms. The ionized water is so safe, it falls within the EPA established drinking water standards. You can even swim with the unit without harming the purification process or your health. Unlike chlorine, which quickly loses potency, the mineral ions remain effective for weeks. They will not evaporate out, even keeping water fresh in pools that are covered during the off-season. The Solar Powered Pool Purifier begins producing ions immediately after being placed in a pool when exposed to sunlight, and will produce ion levels sufficient for pool purification within two weeks (depending on pool volume). The purifier can handle pools up to 40,000 gallons. For larger pools, more than one solar purifier may be required. You may also consider using two purifiers during the summer months to prevent the likelihood of bacteria growth in warmer waters. The pool purifier's advanced solar panels generate its own power, costing absolutely nothing to power it! The unit requires low-powered current, so there's absolutely no electrical shock hazard. Because some pool contaminants, like dust or suntan lotion, are not affected by mineral ions, you will still need to add a small amount of chlorine or other oxidizers to dissolve them.

I have used this Floatron for over ten years in a twelve-foot aboveground pool in South New Jersey and am very satisfied with its performance. I just left it floating all the time, and it kept the water free of algae and turbidity to the point that I used chlorine only once in Spring after removing the winter tarp, and once more in late Fall before putting the pool cover back on and disconnecting the pump. In all those years, I had to replace the copper electrode twice, at $50.00 or so each time, but I guess chemical treatment would have cost more in money and maintenance time.

The only slight cons are that when my children were younger and practically lived in that pool during the swimming season, their blond hair seemed occasionally to get a slightly greenish tint, and some white T-shirts showed the same coloration, but it was slight and never bothered us. Also, the rubber bumper strip around the Floatron’s circumference came loose and split, and I had to caulk it back into its groove.

Some of that old Floatron’s photocells look discolored now, as if water had leaked into or around them, and last summer I had to use chlorine a couple of times to keep the water clear. I guess therefore that this Floatron has reached the end of its lifespan, and I am replacing it with a new one, but the old one has served us well and fully earned its retirement.

Live in Albuquerque, NM. Have a 15 x 30 feet inground vinyl-lined pool that came w/ the house 10 years ago when we moved in. Sick of chemicals and trying to get the right balance and kill the algae I saw starting to grow. The Floatron (though I didn’t get it from Amazon) came with a 3-month guarantee, so I thought I’d try it through the summer months. It was wonderful. Water feels so good and you don’t smell chemicals. A friend locally said my pool is the only one she will swim in. Only need a trace amount of chlorine to burn off and some baking soda to up the pH from time to time. I recommended this to our neighbor with a gunite pool and a friend w/ an above-ground pool. Both still use it. The friend w/ the above-ground pool said she could never get her water to clear despite the Baquacil (sp?)type products. The Floatron cleared her pool. My husband was skeptical until we gave it a try. We have saved so much money, and I don’t know why this product hasn’t taken pool stores out of business with all their chemicals. The copper ions emitted take care of algae, bacteria, etc. It is so easy to open and close our pool. The copper core lasts us 2 years. A new one just screws in and doesn’t cost a whole lot. e-mail me if you have questions at [...]

This is great. Saves lots of time and money. You use very little chemicals with this. Does what it says it will do. If you have a pool you need this. Love it.

My pool is in a bad spot on the world map. First we get a lot of wind in my area and we have a large wash that is only a few blocks away. One windy day can blow in a lot of dirt. Having dirt in the pool for even one night will create a lot of green in no time at all. Needless to say I have had nothing but trouble with my pool for years. I ending up draining it over and over because no matter how many chemicals I put in it didn’t help.

I purchased the Floatron after reading their website and seeing the endorsement from another person in my city. They said the pool supply person admitted to owning one. Well it was the best money I have ever spent on my pool. My pool is blue and looks great other than some sand in the bottom of the pool. My brother never wanted to swim in my pool has already told a new pool owner to get a Floatron after seeing my pool change from what was close to a lagoon to a nice pool.

We have a lot of calcium in our water so when I clean the Floatron on Fridays I do have a lot of buildup on the metal rings. It takes about ten minutes to clean it all up with the metal brush. I am running my Floatron about five days a week Monday through Friday.

This is our 2nd year using the Floatron with a 26-27 ft. round 4 ft upground pool. With lots of rain in the MD area many pools were opened this year to cloudy water. My water was crystal clear and soft. We chlorinated the pool with 1-2 tablets a week, depending on the humidity (pool is in full sun light). When we opened the pool, due to the rain, the alkalinity was very acid so I put about 14 pounds of baking soda (5lb bag at Sam’s is about $7) which took care of the alkalinity problem as well as the stablizer (not a big deal if off). Using the floatron is so simple – just clean it every so often – when needed). The floatron allows my son who has allergies to chorine to swim without any skin irritations – the reason why we purchased it. Next year I plan to use even less chlorine. The floatron will protect your motor and liner for many years.

I am using the Floatron unit since 4 years. I have a small 5000 Liter Pool and all I do is Floatron and filtering. The pool is mostly in the shadow and when the copper diode is very used and the spiral not cleaned I let the Floatron most time in the pool, it still “overloads” the pool after some months. When the copper diode is new and the spiral cleaned I let it 2-3 days in, 4-5 days off. If your pool is in the sun it even needs less time in. Note that the spiral should be cleaned well after maybe 6 months, it is not so easy to make it well, I’ve found a drilling machine with some kind of soft metal brush makes the cleaning much easier. The only part that needs to be replaced is the copper diode, can be ordered from [...] In my case I have it replaced 1 time in 4 years. Bigger pools will need more replacement.

I’ve had my Floatron for just this season. It’s done a fantastic job. I just let it float all the time. [I do clean (scrape the residue off) the inner core every other week, to make sure the Floatron is operating at full strength. Even so, I know I will *at least* get into next season before I need to replace the core.]

I have an 18′x36′ in-ground pool with steps. I also have four large outdoor dogs that use the pool steps to cool off, although they don’t go beyond the steps (I don’t have the heart to block them from the pool given the mid-to-high 90s temps and high humidity in the summers here.)

Last year, I had to use a lot of chlorine (6-8 3″ tablets a week) and clean the pool at least twice a week, and I still had to clear out algae at least every other week.

This year, I’ve had no algae even though I’m using a lot less chlorine (2-4 3″ tablets a week) and only clean the pool once a week. Chlorine and baking soda are all I’ve needed. The water is also much easier on the eyes and much more enjoyable to swim in.

I haven’t had problems with any green/staining, but, come to think of it, my friends don’t have blond hair, so that could still be a problem for some.

Overall, I highly recommend this product; it’s definitely worth the cost. It allows you to avoid the cost of dealing with algae, in terms of both chemicals and frustration.

Ive had the Floatron in the pool for the last 4 weeks and there is absolutely no sign of algae. The water is crystal clear.

I use 1 3″ chlorine tab is the skimmer per week, though Im not sure if its necessary. FYI the pool is above ground 4 x 24.

I am so happy with this product. My pool water is crystal clear! Until now I have had the hardest time trying to keep the PH level balanced. I have had to constantly add chlorine and acid. With the Floatron I have only had to use the float around chlorine tablets and have only added acid once. I have had it for a month now and my pool was clear after only a few days. Great product.

We started using the floatron this year as new pool owners. Our inground pool is about 10 years old when we bought the house from the prevous owners. Maitaining a pool is HARD work and the floatron simply takes away most of those headaches when keeping the water crystal clear. Balancing pH, chlorine levels and killing algae requires a delicate balance of chemicals that is hard to achieve yet alone, maintain. The money used to buy those chemicals can add up as well. After we bought the floatron, we only need trace amounts of chlorine to keep the water CRYSTAL clear. The floatron is easy to maintain, a cleaning once a week as described in the user-friendly manual, and trouble-free. The replacement electrode is $50 which is much less than the cost of the chemicals used to maintain a pool and it lasts atleast 2 seasons. A must have for any pool owner.

    • Nice webpage, it is actually doing work absolutely effectively on this platform too. Like your picture BTW.
